Type A Visa
This is an airport transit visa which grants the holder the right to enter and remain in the international transit area of the airport until the departure of the flight to the country of destination. It may be issued for multiple entries and exits, provided that:
1. The applicant demonstrates the necessity of frequent transit travel;
2. The applicant has not previously abused other visas (whether transit or otherwise);
3. The applicant provides proof of sufficient economic guarantees to cover the journey to the country of destination.
Type C Visa
The type C visa allows its holder to enter and stay in the Republic of Albania for a short period. It may be issued for single or multiple entries, but in any case, its validity may not exceed 5 years. In cases where this visa is issued for transit through Albanian territory, its duration and validity must correspond to the time necessary to complete the transit, but may not exceed 5 days.
To apply for a multi-entry type C visa, the following conditions must be met:
1. The applicant must prove the need and justify the purpose of regular travel, such as family obligations, business, training, civil society engagement, etc.;
2. The applicant must not have previously abused other visas (transit or otherwise);
3. The applicant must demonstrate sufficient financial guarantees to return to the country of origin within the visa validity period.
Type D Visa
The type D visa is issued to foreign nationals intending to stay in the Republic of Albania for more than 90 days within a 180-day period and who seek to obtain a residence permit. This requirement applies only to applicants who are subject to a visa requirement to enter Albania. The procedures and documentation for obtaining this visa depend on the grounds of stay, which may include: employment, self-employment, investment, digital employment, family reunification, studies, training, au pair programs, youth exchanges, scientific research, etc.
